Clash of careers: Is that what came between Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds?
SCARLETT JOHANSSON, has hinted that her relationship with Ryan Reynolds may have ended because they clashed over their careers.
The actress, who was married to the Green Lantern star, 38, from 2008 until 2011, says it's hard for actors and actresses to marry each other because of the competitive nature of the profession.
"Acting is a very strange world to be co-existing in. It's very volatile," the Baftawinning star tells Parade magazine. "There's always going to be the more successful person. It's related to rejection because actors, if they're not having success, connect it to unpopularity - to the fact that nobody wants them."
Since the split, the 30-year-old has found happiness with French art curator Romain Dauriac - they married last year and have seven-month-old daughter Rose.
"My husband's also involved in art," she said.
"What's important to him is the recognition that he gets from his job and that has nothing to do with my job... We're interested in each other's worlds. He's interested in my weird, alien entertainment world. It fascinates him because it's so different to what he knows. And I like to go to art openings with him and talk about art with him."
Ryan meanwhile kept his love life firmly in the industry by going on to marry former Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively, 27, in 2012, welcoming their first child together, James, four months ago.
